Conte meeting with Tottenham bosses

Antonio Conte had an important meeting with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy and sporting director Fabio Paratici on Monday.

The focus of the meeting was the Italian coach’s assessments of the current team and which areas need to be improved in the transfer market. An initial meeting took place between the two sides last month, but another conversation was scheduled as the former Inter coach asked for more time to make his assessments.

Speaking to reporters gathered at a press conference today, Conte confirmed that the meeting was positive for all parties and noted that final decisions regarding transfer moves now fall from the club.

Both sides agreed that Tottenham should sign a new striker, a right-back and a left-back. The Italian coach also reiterated the need for a new central midfielder, unhappy with Tanguy Ndombele and the Frenchman was recently contacted by Roma coach Jose Mourinho for a possible move.

Candidates to fill Tottenham’s roles include Wolves’ Adama Traore, Milan’s Frank Kessie and Manchester United’s Jessie Lingard. Conte appreciates the difficulty of investing in the January transfer window, but still hopes for at least some reinforcements.
