Tesla has agreed to make changes to its “Passenger Play” feature, which allows games to be played on the touch screen while the car is in motion.
This follows the investigation launched by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The agency said it was informed by Tesla that a software update would disable the feature during the trip.
Elon Musk’s car firm had faced criticism that the feature was dangerous, writes the BBC.
Initially, the Passenger Play feature was only available when the car was stationary, but this was changed in December 2020, to allow play when the car was in motion.
Complaints from consumers and experts began immediately, given the large number of accidents that occur as a result of negligence.
